β¦ Synopsis
BACKGROUND.
The National Marrow Donor Program operates the world's largest registry of volunteer unrelated stem cell donors. In recent years, the program has focused on building a large and diverse donor file. After initial recruitment, however, months or years may elapse before a potential donor is contacted on behalf of a searching patient.
