โœฆ Synopsis


The National Forest is a new multipurpose resource being promoted in the English Midlands as part of the UK Government's response to the Rio Declaration. Concepts of sustainability contained within the vision for this lowland forest are analysed through the development of the forest concept, drawing on an analysis of current approaches to economic regeneration, environmental enhancement and social/ community partnerships. It is concluded that although the Forest Company has met some of its own early targets, judged by these three measures, other contributions to long-term sustainability
