There is no hint of either mystery or danger in the routine assignment handed to Ken Holt and his friend, Sandy Allen, one brisk autumn evening. Sandy's father, owner and editor of the Brentwood Advance has sent them to cover a purely social event - the annual Halloween party for the employees of the Brentwood Foundry and Casting Company.
