Set in the UK, in a small village of Hallowfield, where a stone cottage and the sudden death of her cheating husband dramatically changes the life of Sally Lavender. In a Sea-change meets the Witches of Eastwick kind of book, Sally is befriended by a very confident grey cat and four very different women, each with their own personal issues but united by a belief in Wicca and the power of the Goddess. This is manifested in a freshwater spring in a small wood on Sallyβ² land and she discovers that she is now Keeper of the Spring as she is increasingly drawn into the circle of friends. Together the women unite to help one of their number trapped in an escalating, abusive relationship.
