Most people think of death as the end of who they are, and for most, thatβs a bad thing. What if we got it wrong though? What if the birth of who we are (or rather, who we think we are) was in fact the β badβ thing and the end is the βgoodβ thing? After all, how are things going for you at the moment? Pretty good? So so? Could use a little extra something? Not very good? Comparable to a nightmare? Whatever the case may be, the assumption that what youβve got is something thatβs going to last is pretty silly. Clearly, youβre going to die and what youβve got is going to be taken from you. Everything youβre experiencing is impermanent, so why not consider the reality that awaits you beyond this impermanence? Iβm not suggesting that you look to the future in order to escape your present reality, Iβm suggesting that you take your present reality and find out whatβs underneath it. You may just find that what awaits you beyond this impermanence is already here, hiding in plain sight. You may also find that whatβs hiding is the very thing youβve been seeking all along, even if youβve never been sure of what exactly that was. Take the leap, find out.
