β¦ Synopsis
The molecular structure of magnesium bis-acetylacetonate has been determined by synchronous gas-phase electron diffraction (GED) and mass spectrometric experiment and quantum mechanical calculations

Major structural parameters determined by GED experiment are the following: bond distances r a (Mg -O) ΒΌ 1.966(4), r a (O-C) ΒΌ 1.279(2), r a (C -C 0 ) ΒΌ 1.408(3), r a (C -C m ) ΒΌ 1.534(4) A Λ; valence angles / a (O-Mg -O) ΒΌ 93.3(2), / a (O -C 0 -C) ΒΌ 125.3(2), / a (O-C-C m ) ΒΌ 116.2(4)8.
