β¦ Synopsis
Rashmi Machelle has had the pleasure of dancing with death once already. Having finally gone into remission for her childhood cancer, she is ready to experience everything she has missed out on in life.
She has always had a fascination with mermaids. Upon learning that she can make money off it, Rashmi puts her sights on going professional. Itβs not easy working with snooty photographers or trying to pick up gigs, but for Rashmi, it will be worth it.
Then Rashmi meets Anika Jenner, formerly known as Anika Church. It was Bernadette, Anikaβs sweet and spunky seven-year-old, who Rashmi met first. Saved first actually, because the little girl had leaped into the deep end of the pool, only to be saved by Rashmiβs mermaid alter-ego. After that, the pair seemed to keep meeting up, growing more and more comfortable together.
From aquarium visits to Renaissance Fairs, Rashmiβs affections toward both Anika and Bernadette, grow with each day. But will she be enough to keep Anika steady during her divorce? Will Anikaβs husband continue trying to ruin Anikaβs life? Not if Rashmi has anything to say about it.
