An endonuclease activity, which is specific for partially depurinated PM2 DNA, has been assayed in extracts prepared from cultured cells and larval brain ganglia of Drosophila melanogaster. Activity detected in repair-proficient cells is stimulated by Mg++ and is inhibited by EDTA. Extracts prepared

A maternal effect in homozygousmei-9amei

## Abstract Evidence is presented supporting the suggestion that homozygosity for the repair‐deficient mutants __mei‐9__^a^ __mei‐41__^D5^ is associated with a maternal effect which affects detrimentally the recovery rate of Y chromosome‐bearing offspring.
