β¦ Synopsis
Propane -a m monia -air flames 1'0 1-2 1"4 1-6 FIGURE 1. Laminar flame speeds of propane-ammonia-air mixtures Vot 13 15 to 25 single values. Values for propane and ethylene measured by the same method can be tbund in the literature 1.4. This nozzle method has an error limit of three to five per cent. In this range the determined values arein good agreement with those mentioned in the literature. The laminar propane-ammonia-air flame exhibits dim luminosity with weak mixtures, and the flame cone is blue. Using rich mixtures the flame has a pale orange colour. As can be seen in Figure 1 the burning velocity of the propane-ammonia-air flame is decreased by increasing the ratio of ammonia. The maximum of the curve shifts at higher ammonia contents to smaller ~ values.
