✦ Synopsis

The mutagenic action of hydroxylomine (HA) and O-methylhydroxylomine (OMHA) appears moinly to be due to their reactions with cytosine residues in nucleic acids (l-6). The mechanism of these interactions is not fully understood; the interpretations of the genetic data from the chemical point of view are rather controdictious (7-9).
