A novel oxidase activity of external NADH was found in mitochondria of a streptomycin-bleached mutant and the wild strain of Euglena gracilis. In contrast to higher plants the oxidation of external NADH in mitochondria of E. gracilis is sensitive to rotenone and yields the same phosphorylation effic
