✦ Synopsis

Twenty water-MOS-electrolyte systems were studied. An analytical expression which describes the relative solubility S/S'" as a function of the MOS amount, V, was found. Expressions for predicting the solubility constants I and u,/l + u,, from precipitation constants were found. These constants are applicable to the entire range, in most cases, and applicable for most of the range in other cases.

The knowledge of the solubility of pharmaceuticals in pure solvents and solvent mixtures is crucial for designing the crystallization process of drug substances. The first step in finding optimal crystallization conditions is usually a solvent screening. Since experiments are very time consuming, a

## Abstract In order to examine the thermodynamic effects of exposing nucleic acid bases to water, we have measured the solubility of adenine, cytosine, and uracil in water and in organic solvents as a function of temperature. Transfer of a nucleic acid base from an organic environment into water i
