✦ Synopsis
Attempts to measure the approximate pH of phosphate and acetate buffer between lOOand 250°C and up to 1700 x lo5 Pa via cell emfs are reported. The pH was calculated from cells employing pH responsive palladium hydride and silver chloride, silver reference electrodes held in PTFE cell container housed in a hydraulic steel pressure vessel. Corrections are made for the observed pressure dependence on the electrode potentials of the pH sensitive electrode.
