✦ Synopsis

For CH +

2 molecular ions at 5 K we simulate the infrared absorption spectrum, and tabulate all strong absorption lines from 0 to 16 000 cm -1 . We use ab initio potential energy, dipole moment, and transition moment surfaces in conjunction with our program system RENNER, which allows for the Renner-Teller effect and spin-orbit coupling in a full-dimensions calculation. This is done for the purpose of guiding our search for the matrix isolation spectrum; our attempts at finding this spectrum are also described.

A suitable method to synthesize molecules like S‫ב‬Ge‫ב‬S, which cannot be obtained by heating of the well known solids, is provided by the matrix-isolation technique. In solid noble or other inert gases, GeS molecules react with S-atoms, which are produced photochemically from cocondensed COS. The

## Abstract The reaction of the ^Λ™^CH~2~CH~2~OHCH~3~^+^ distonic ion with CH~2~O was studied by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance spectrometry. The process is induced by an initial regiospecific attack of the carbon CH~2~O at the radical site of the distonic ion, leading to an intermediate

The microwave spectrum of the formaldehyde -water complex ( CH 2 O -H 2 O ) has been studied with a pulsedbeam Fourier transform Fabry -Perot cavity spectrometer. Both a-type and b-type transitions were observed for each of the isotopic species studied. To provide additional structural information,

Far-infrared laser magnetic resonance (FIR-LMR) spectra due to the CH 2 F radical have been recorded on seven laser lines at wavelengths between 301 and 568 m. Observed resonances were assigned to fine and hyperfine components of pure rotational transitions of CH 2 F in the ground vibrational state
