β¦ Synopsis
This is the 7th installment of the Jackson Blackhawk series.
The ten members of Black Mamba were intentionally chosen because they were orphans. In fact, they had no family at all, so when the little dark man with the scar across his face came into El Patron and announced he was Blackhawks brother it was a shock. His birth name was Delbert, but he took the name Azeed while in prison. Azeed's birth mother had five children, none with the same father. There wasn't an ounce of blood between Blackhawk and Azeed. Blackhawk's father bore two boys. Each with a different mother. Blackhawk was alone in his bloodline. This didn't stop Azeed from trying to take advantage of a situation that came his way.
While Azeed was in Florence he became acquainted with members of the Valdez Cartel, a large drug dealing enterprise in the Phoenix area. The Godfather of the Valdez Cartel was the Consul General of Columbia whose granddaughter had been kidnapped by a rival Cartel. It wasn't until he saw a photo of Blackhawk that he recognized his stepbrother. This is how Azeed became aware that Blackhawk and his friend Jackson had been instrumental in finding the girl and returning her to her grandfather. This is how Azeed learned that Blackhawk was one bad ass dude and could fit right in with Azeed's grand plans to take over the drug trade. Β Like almost all people, Azeed had no idea what Blackhawk and Jackson were capable of. Azeed is in the midst of a completely foolish plan to buy a shipment of actiq, a lollipop shaped opioid fentanyl that is 100 times stronger than morphine, from the Dos Hermosa drug cartel. Foolish because he will be buying with counterfeit money.
At the same time Jackson gets a call from his friend Father Correa who runs a shelter for homeless mothers. A business neighbor of his has come for advice. He and his grown daughter had an argument and she had packed her things in the middle of the night and moved out. Looking in her room for any clue as to where she went, he finds a solitary diamond under her bed. Jackson has it appraised. It's worth ten thousand dollars. He also finds that the largest diamond heist in the history of New York City took place just three months ago. This cannot be a coincidence.
So, while he and Blackhawk dodge the vengeance of the Dos Hermosa drug cartel that controls some of the most dangerous street gangs in Phoenix, they are also trying to find the runaway girl who appears to be in the clutches of ruthless diamond thieves.
