Morley in repeating in (~leveland the famous Michelson-Morlev experiments on ether-drift. Besides this he has made valuable contributions in acoustics and in harmonic analysis. All these things guarantee the accuracy of his observations. "The final test of these observations," says Professor Miller, "is whether they lead to a rational and wholly consistent indication of a constant motion of the solar system in space, combined with the orbital motion of the earth and the daily rotation on its axis."
