In the present study, glasses with composition (80-X) Á B 2 O 3 Á XBi 2 O 3 Á 20Fe 2 O 3 (X ¼ 10, 15 and 20 mol%) have been prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. The glassy state of the samples is characterized using DTA and X-ray diffraction. The infrared spectra of these glasses a
