โฆ Synopsis
The model of a photoinduced electron transfer in a donor-acceptor pair including singlet and triplet electron excited states of the donor is presented. Within the framework of a stochastic approach the probability of the transition to the triplet donor state caused by an external magnetic field is found. It is shown that this transition can block the electron transfer from the singlet donor state and, therefore, can essentially change the reaction kinetics. The possibility of extracting direct information on the reaction coordinate dynamics from the dependence of the effect on the magnetic field strength is briefly discussed.

Photoinduced electron tmnsfer reactions in Ru(bpy)~'/hfV2+ and F'y/Ch(II) donor-acceptor systems have been studied in cellophane polymer Iii under conditions of various water con\*:nt The results obtained are dkuswd in terms of both the reactioz exothermicity and separation between the reactants.
