✦ Synopsis
The distribution of niacrophytes and the biomass development during the summer was studied in the slightly acidified Lake dnketjiirn in western Sweden. The submerged cyperid Juncus bulbows, which has been reported to expand in acidifying lakes, covered almost 50 ')'o of the lake area. The most dense Juncus vegetation was found a t 1.3 m on loose, highly organic sediment. Besides J . bdbostis the vegetation was cliaractcrized by Sympheids, Carex rostrcztu and C. lusiocarpu (approximately eqiiully important in the stands), Equisrtum fZtivintiZe and Lobe& dortmnnna, species which showed a qnite distinct zonation with deptli.
