โœฆ Synopsis

The fifth book in the 13 Volume series "The History of Middle-Earth" by J.R.R.Tolkien, edited by his son Christopher Tolkien. The initial five volumes of this series examine the previously unpublished writings of Professor Tolkien about Middle-Earth, largely concerning the Elder Days, broadly covering the periods and topics addressed in the 1977 book 'The Silmarillion'. Subsequent volumes examine in detail the history of the writing of 'The Lord of the Rings'. The final volumes achieve the publication of the Professor's remaining unpublished works regarding the history of the Elder Days, particularly the war of the Elves with Morgoth, but including also the Notion Club papers.
