Elizabeth "Ellie" Williams has just been dumped. As if her night couldn't get any worse, she gets news that her grandmother has passed away. Now, with no other choice but to return to her small hometown for the funeral, Ellie must face her past. The quietness of the town of Frelighsburg is a far stretch from the city buzz of Montreal, but Ellie doesn't have a choice: she owes it to her beloved grandmother, Dolores.
Spending the weekend in her childhood home, with her sweet father and difficult mother, surrounded by memories from her past, it's no wonder Ellie grows to prefer the company of her neighbor and high school crush, Devon Barrett. Devon is gorgeous, charming and seems to understand Ellie better than she understands herself. As they grow closer, brought together by the Williams'Family Orchards and their mutual respect for Dolores, they discover that a lot can happen in just a few days.
As the weekend comes to an end, Ellie must decide exactly what she needs to do to make everyone happy and that includes herself. She must face her newly acquired responsibilities, deal with her feelings about her old hometown and most importantly, she must try to figure out what she should follow: her head or her heart.
