Colleen and Abbie Lewis are mother and daughter living in a small, lakeside town, and they are — oops! — about to become accidental crime solvers. Fortunately, Colleen and her family have been Lakeland residents for a very long time. An entire townful of people wants to keep this duo safe. That includes a couple of very different, extremely appealing men — and, a whole slew of dogs!

As a local area dog groomer, Colleen figures there can never be enough dogs — and this series is filled with a variety of canine friends. And as for men — well, there's Diego, the sexy soccer coach, there's Drew the local cop and lifelong friend, and there's Bobby, the family friend who just may or may not be shady and breaking his grandmother's heart. What's a girl to do? With a novel happening in every season, this local town has some stuff going on. Like, love blooming all over the place.

This is going to be a year for Colleen and Abbie to remember. First, though, they have to live to tell the tale!
