✦ Synopsis


A dementia rating scale for use with psychogeriatric patients, published initially by Lawson et al. (1977), has been subjected to a number of revisions and is now presented as the Kingstcn Dementia Rating Scale (KDRS). Item content has been modified, and the administration and scoring instructions have been elaborated. Psychometric studies supporting the reliability and validity of the KDRS are reported, and normative data obtained from a sample of 237 psychogeriatric patients are summarized and presented.
