✦ Synopsis
The kinetics of the processes of reducing tetragonal PbO to Pb has been studied by the linear sweep voltammetry (Isv) technique. It was found that the reduction processes of tetragonal PbO are controlled by OH-ion diffusion through the PbSO, membrane besides the limitation of the nucleation and growth mechanism. In its reduction, a dissolution-deposition mechanism has been put forward and the process of the transformation of the tetragonal PbO into basic lead sulfates are discussed.
