✦ Synopsis
The Kapitza conductance of various materials used for superconducting magnets was studied in pressurized superfluid helium. The test samples included OFHC copper with electro-polished surfce, OFHC copper with insulator (polyvinylformar) coated surface, stainless steel and epoxy resin. Measurements were carried out for the flat surface at temperatures of 1.8 K in pressurized superfluid helium. A comparison of the Kapitza conductance for these materials and the influence of surface coating on Kapitza conductance was given where the temperature difference across the interface is comparable to the bath temperature.
