Analysis of the itinerant oscillator model of polar fluids has hitherto been concentrated on the small-oscillation approximation. This has neglected one important contribution to the dynamic polarization, namely relaxation due to crossing of dipoles over the hills of the cosine potential for dipole-

โฆ Synopsis
The problem of including both inertial and non-linear effects in the dielectric rehxsation of an assembly of molecules containing rotating polar groups is treated analytically_ Approximate solutions for the dipole autocorrelation function and the comples polartiability sugest that the related relaxation dynamics is to be regarded as mostly diffusional in its nature when a strong dipole-dipole coupling is assumed, contrary to the predictions of the corresponding linear models.
