Abstract
Explicit expressions are obtained for the ionic components of the gyration and electrogyration tensors for dielectric crystals. The symmetry aspects of the ionic gyrotropy and electrogyration are considered. The procedure of calculation of ionic contributions to the electrogyration is illustrated by the model example of the Pb^2+^ ion in crystalline fields of S~4~ and C~3i~ symmetry.
