✦ Synopsis

OCCLUSIVE arterial disease is all too common and now with the extensive use of arteriography the actual narrowing of the artery can be diagnosed.

This monograph sets out in a practical way the pathology and pattern of vascular involvement in arteriosclerosis obliterans.

The author stresses the fact that it is very important to select carefully patients for direct arterial surgery. Today, with careful and early diagnosis, amputation of the lower limbs is rarely required because of arterial grafts and other vascular operations.

This book is intended for the general and cardiovascular surgeon dealing with the clinical realities of internal disease.
