Abstract
In a recent note (Oxnard, '72) on the interpretation of the results of interpolating fossils into a discriminant function analysis it was suggested that the wrong conclusions had been drawn from the analyses. It is shown here that these criticisms stem from an incomplete understanding of the aims of the original work and of the biological interpretation put upon the statistical analyses.
