A test facility at Instituto de PesquisasTechnoi6gicas in Brazil is described, which enables the internal loss.factor of building materials to be measured.for full sized walls built under realistic conditions. Measurements of the internal loss factor show that there is a slight frequency dependence and that plastering a wall can affect the performance.
