Abstract

The adsorption potentials of argon on the (111), (001) and (110) planes of rhombic sulfur have been calculated for a total of 818 sites, using an intermolecular potential of the Lennardโ€Jones (6:12) type with the Kirkwoodโ€Mรผller expression. Direct summation over the nearest 100โ€“150 atoms of the solid was used. There is a good agreement between the experimental and the calculated values of the adsorption potential, as a function of the surface coverage.

## Abstract **Summary:** Surfaces of PTFE were modified by polychromatic UV irradiation in the presence of hydrazine vapors.
