Rules are given which should assist in the use of the equation dy y(l-Y) IdP _=---[ 1 dx (y-x) Pdx for predicting vapour compositions from total pressure data. A discussion is also given of the values of dy dx at the terminal points of the composition range and at the azeotropic point.
