✦ Synopsis
We report on the synthesis and crystal structure of TlPbCl 3 which can only be prepared by a high pressure synthesis. In similar experiments solid solutions of the type Tl 1؊x Rb x PbCl 3 (0(x(0.25) and TlPbCl 3؊x Br x (0(x(2.5) were prepared. The structural parameters are given. All compounds are isotypic with InSnCl 3 . The stability of such compounds and crystal chemical features are discussed.
