Starting from three-dimensional theory, a global minimum principle for stresses in elastic-plastic shells subjected to arbitrary conservative loading histories is presented. Finite displacements but small strains are considered. For numerical illustration, the stress state in an elastic-plastic cylindrical shell under nonproportional loading is calculated.
