✦ Synopsis
The inhibition of DPNH Oxidase aetivity of Heart Muscle preparation by Dicournarol * Julius LOWENTHAL (Saskatoon) SUMMARY 1. Dicouniarol was found to inhibit DPNH oxidase activity of heart muscle preparation. The inhibition depended both on the time of preincubation of the enzyme complex with dicoumarol and on the final concentration of dicoumarol.
-
Diaphorase-, cytochrome c reductase-, and cytochrome c oxidase activity were not inhibited by dicoumarol.
-
The inhibition was not reversed by calcium phosphate gel or vitamin K,.
-
Cytochrome c protected the enzyme completely against inactivation when added prior to dicoumarol, and reversed the inhibition t o a Iqrge extent when added after preincubation with dicoumarol.
