The frequencies and apparent extinction coefficients for bands in the 1550, 1350, 1300, and 850 cm^−1^ regions for 11 ortho, 18 meta, and 29 para nitro‐benzenes and for 7 heteroaromatic nitro‐compounds are recorded.
