EMF mcasumncnts of elcctrochanical alis containing heavy and normal water solutions of scwral alkali halides hwe been made_ The cell potentials have been combined with available heat of solution data to determine the entropy of transfer of the salts betueen the isotopic sotwnrs. From the values of the entropy of transfer. the order of the structure influcwing properties of alkali cations and halide anions uas found IO be K + 2 Na+ > Li+ and I-) Br-;, Cl-) F-. Diffu-cnccs in values among the ions indicated that structure influencing properties are more scnsitix to ion size for ncgati\cIy charged species than for positivcly charged spccicr
