✦ Synopsis
A simple method for measuring sticking coefficients is described and that of water on stainless steel has been determined, with a value of about 10p3. The water binding energy was found allowing for the influence of readsorption on the outgassing kinetics. The binding energy changed from 96-103 kJ/mole during 50 h of pumping.
