β¦ Synopsis
Homogenates of rat and frog liver were incubated with ThDP and ThMP at different pHs.
The products of hydrolysis were identified by paper chromatography.
In experiments carried out at pH 9 with ThDP as substrate in the presence of rat liver, the spot corresponding to Th did not appear on the chromatogram. This was in contrast with parallel experiments with frog liver. ThMP from commerciaI source behaved differently toward enzymatic decomposition than ThMF' originating from hydrolysis of ThDP. Attempts have been made to explain these differences.

Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) inhibited UDP-glucuronyltransferase activity of rat liver in vitro and in vivo. Diethyl phthalate and dimethoxyethyl phthalate also inhibited this enzyme in vitro. On the other hand, DEHP did not inhibit the activity of the cytosolic enzyme N-acetyltransferase; it al
## Abstract To try to improve hydrolysis yields at elevated solids loadings, a comparison was made between batch and fedβbatch addition of fresh substrate at the initial and later phases of hydrolysis. Both ethanol (EPCS) and steamβpretreated corn stover (SPCS) substrates were tested at low (5 FPU)
An inhibition study showed that the stereoselective hydrolysis of butyryl propranolol (butyryl PL) in rat liver microsomes and plasma involves carboxylesterase. The hydrolysis of (S)-butyryl PL in plasma was specifically inhibited by eserine and bis-nitrophenyl phosphate (BNPP), compared to the (R)-
