Abstract
The antiferromagnetically coupled Fe/Si multilayers deposited by magnetron sputtering with different Fe layer thicknesses have been examined. It has been shown that the magnetization of ferromagnetic layer reduces its value with decreasing Fe layers thickness affecting the antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling. This coupling has been found to occur for Fe layer thicker than 0.5 nm. It has been shown that the antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling occurs through the semiconducting spacer layer.
