✦ Synopsis

In this study, we have investigated the effect of Cr substitution on the structural, magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of Fe 74--x Cr x Cu 1 Nb 3 Si 13 B 9 (x ¼ 2, 4, 8, 11, 14) alloys. The samples were annealed between 450 and 600 C for 1 h under argon atmosphere to induce various nanocrystalline fractions. The change in microstructure upon annealing were examined by the X-ray spectrum data. A large influence of Cr content on the formation of a-FeSi phase was observed. The magnetic field dependence of the Young's modulus (DE effect) was measured using the vibration reed method. The DE results are interpreted partly in terms of the stress relief and the reduced magnetostriction in nanocrystalline samples.

To increase magnetic storage density, it is necessary to develop recording heads using materials with optimised magnetic properties. Several works have revealed the high Bs Co 90 Fe 10 alloys (1.8 ± 2.0 T). However, coercivity of these alloys is too high and the addition of a third element such as c

The availability of high-purity metals and high-purity based alloys has recently allowed us to better understand the various processes of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) that take place during hot working. According to the mobility of dislocations and the subsequent efficiency of dynamic recovery (w
