✦ Synopsis


The superconductivity-related self-energies of phonons in the high-To superconductor RBa2CuzOr_~ (R = rare earth) have recently madepossible the determination of a ,Mac of the superconducting gapJ .The addition of impurities has the apparent effect of shifting this gap value to higher energies. We interpret these results in terms ol a symmetrization of the gap at the Fermi surface by the impurities.

Hydrogen (I-I) absorption by YBa2Cu 307.-,s CYBCO) was carried out by exposing the superconducting powders to if-generated H plasma. We find that both the field-cooled (FC) and zero-field-cooled (ZFC) susceptibilities increase after hydrogenation. The largest enhancement is about 24% for the FC susc
