β¦ Synopsis
The paper describes the use of the incremental flow formulation for the simulation of the superplastic forming of thick sheet. This formulation is based on the approximation of the flow type of constitutive equations that describe superplastic materials by means of a pseudo hyperelastic equation based on geometry changes over a timestep. The resluting equilibrium equations are functions of nodal positions. Hence geometrical constraints such as contact and incompressibility can be enforced in an exact manner. Several examples wil used to demonstrate the validity of the method.
