The ''non-hydrolyzing'' bacterial UDP-N-acetylglucosamine 2-epimerase catalyzes the reversible interconversion of UDP-Nacetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNAc) and UDP-N-acetylmannosamine (UDP-ManNAc). This homodimeric enzyme is allosterically activated by its substrate, UDP-GlcNAc, and it is thought that one
