## Abstract The major factors influencing the extent of biohydrogenation of linoleic acid have been investigated by a series of __in vitro__ incubations. Two distinct patterns of biohydrogenation were obtained; one in which biohydrogenation was complete and 18:0 was the major endβproduct and one i

The extent and pattern of digestion of oat hay (Avena sativa L.) and vetch hay (Vicia sativa L.) monosaccharides by rumen contents was studied in vitro. The ratios of matrix polysaccharides to lignin were 1.25:l and 3.82:l in the vetch and oat hays, respectively. Glucose, xylose and uronic acids wer
