The cleaning and washing power of surfactants is based on physicochemical effects. Of special importance is the emulsifying and dispersing capacity. While the emulsifying capacity describes the behaviour of two immiscible liquid phases, the dispersing capacity is a measure of how a liquid phase influences a solid phase. The interfacial tension is the most important parameter which characterizes the interaction between an aqueous surfactant solution and an oil. A quantitative evaluation of the aftinity of a surfactant solution to a solid substrate occurs through the measurement of the absorbed quantities. A comparative discussion of the surfactant effect on both types of interfaces using the example of alkyl polyglycosides provides information about the property profile during the washing and cleaning process. Die Bedeutung des Emulgations-und Dispersionsvermogens von Alkylpolyglycosiden in Wasch-und Reinigungsmitteln. Das Reinigungs-und Waschvermogen von Tensiden basiert auf physikalisch-chemischen Effekten. Von besonderer Bedeutung sind das Emulgier-und Dispergiervermogen. Wihrend das Emulgiervermogen das Verhalten von zwei nicht-mischbaren flussigen Phasen beschreibt, ist das Dispergiervermogen ein Ma8 fur den EinfluB einer flussigen Phase auf eine feste Phase. Die Grenzflachenspannung ist der wichtigste Parameter, der die Wechselwirkung zwischen einer waRrigen Tensidlosung und einem 0 1 charakterisiert. Eine quantitative Beurteilung der Affinitat einer Tensidlosung gegeniiber einem festen Substrat erfolgt durch die Messung der adsorbierten Mengen. Eine vergleichende Betrachtung der Tensidwirkung an beiden Grenzflachentypen am Beispiel von Alkylpolyglycosiden ergibt Aussagen iiber das Eigenschaftsprofil im Wasch-und ReinigungsprozeR.
