E E "Doc" Smith's 1964 novella, originally published in the science fiction magazine "If" (May 1964 issue, published in New York by Galaxy Publishing Corporation). After the author's death, this story was subsequently expanded by Stephen Goldin into a full length novel of the same name. The 1964 novella is the only story in the long running Family D'Alembert Series that was actually written by 'Doc' Smith.
