Dissimilatory iron reduction is of quantitative importance during anaerobic degradation of organic matter in flooded rice field soils. To isolate dissimilatory Fe(III)-reducing microorganisms from rice soil, enrichments were carried out with acetate and ferrihydrite. One of these resulted in the iso
