✦ Synopsis

It has been found that the alkali-denaturation technique for the identijication of foetal haemoglobin is unsatisfactory for bloodstains more than two weeks old.

Electrophoresis on Sartorius cellulose acetate provides a se$aration of haemoglobins A and F in one hour using small amounts of bloodstain. This method is described.
