โฆ Synopsis
The process of removal of small particles from molten iron under steel deoxidation is analyzed. It is shown within the framework of the hydrodynamic theory constructed previously that argon bubbles present in the melt absorb particles at a high rate. It has been found that the particle flux onto the surface of a bubble is determined by the diffusion coefficient of a surfactant dissolved in the melt of concentration co as D 1/5. The characteristic time of particle absorption in the melt volume is ,,~ Co -2/3. The times of particle absorption are in a characteristic time interval observed in metallurgy.
